Our approach
My approach is evidence-based, formulation led, and deeply collaborative. I believe therapy works best when it is both structured and attuned - combining clear, research-informed methods with genuine human understanding.
Drawing on my experience across NHS community, educational, acute, inpatient, forensic, and Health & Justice settings, I bring a calm, grounded presence to complex and sensitive work. I am attentive to patterns, early experiences, and the wider systems that shape psychological wellbeing, while ensuring that therapy remains practical, focused, and goal-oriented.
Sessions are tailored to each individual. I work gently but directly, helping you understand how your difficulties developed, what maintains them, and how meaningful change can happen. Where relevant, I collaborate with other professionals involved in your care to ensure a coordinated and psychologically informed approach.
Above all, I aim to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and safe enough to explore what may never have been spoken about before.

“I would say that as a therapist, Anya is completely engaged, and that is really felt and seen when she explains what she has heard and understood from her client. 9 times out of 10, you can see how clearly and well she has heard and understood you. That approach - her ability to softly guide while also following the rhythm of myself and her other clients, is definitely her strength. She naturally creates an environment of calm that allows you to finally put your mask down. I’ve been surprised by how much I’ve shared with her - things I’ve never admitted to others, or even to myself. She helped me navigate parts of my childhood trauma that I had never spoken about before. Throughout it all, she made me feel deeply validated and truly listened to.”
